Boston's Cousin Stizz just dropped off his Suffolk County tape, consisting of 13 slick tracks that bear relatively trappy influences without disguising Stizz's East Coast steez. Here's a highlight, "I Got It."
Produced by Latrell James and Tedd Boyd, the track starts with some tranquil synths that recall Tycho (a producer who's been sampled by Rome Fortune, among others) before a propulsive beat and chirpy vocal sample send us careening into Stizz's rapping. Working with a pretty standard triplet pattern, Stizz keeps things interesting by keeping his street tales taut, witty and realistic. The full tape's well worth your time, but if you're in need of a bite-sized snippet to pique your interest, this should do nicely.
Quotable Lyrics
I'm like Willie McGinest
I'll fuck up your plan, you know I'm a menace
I don't got feelings, man business is business
The way that I'm living should be up in Guinness
