Donald Trump tried to appeal to his base at his rally in Tulsa.

President Donald Trump held a rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma last night and in the end, it was an abject failure. Trump expected to have hundreds of thousands of people in the streets although in the end, about 20,000 people showed up and there was no one in the overflow. Regardless, Trump got to talk unfiltered to his base for an hour, and throughout the speech, he had some choice words for the NFL and Roger Goodell...again.

Of course, Roger Goodell recently came out in favor of kneeling for the National Anthem, and the President doesn't like that very much. As a result, he went on a huge rant where he noted that the NFL ratings are about to sink.

“Explain this to the NFL,” Trump said. “I like the NFL. I like Roger Goodell. But I didn’t like what he said a week ago. I said, ‘Where did that come from in the middle of the summer? Nobody’s even asking.’ We will never kneel to our national anthem or our great American flag. We will stand proud, and we will stand tall. I thought we won that battle with the NFL. Their stadiums were emptying out."

Trump loves to talk about ratings as it's truly all he knows at this point. The NFL is occupying some prime real estate in his head, absolutely rent-free. If you're the NFL, you have to find this amusing.
