Mr. Carmack remains a bit of an enigma despite all of the recent success. One of the undoubtable beat-makers of this generation, Carmack hails form Hawaii, which isn't exactly a hotbed for music production.
With a whole bunch of releases under his belt, Carmack has ties with hot labels like Mad Decent and Soulection. His music is best described as it is on Facebook, in that it can "make you dance, make you feel, make you crave, make you sad, make you think, make you jump, make you love the way I do."
Whether he's crafting the soundtrack for the next massive party or an early morning chill session, he's got some incredible skill. His ability to craft music all over the scale of "0 to 100" is second to none.
Let's take a peak in to Mr. Carmack's productions with his 10 essential tracks.
Mr. Carmack - Chill n With Girlfriend
Carmack flipped a 112 track in to something fresh and funky for the beat-heads.
Mr. Carmack - Reputation
Mr. Carmack makes music from outer space. This one might feature an alien.
Mr. Carmack - Robb Banks' , 3/5
Mr. Carmack can even make Kendrick Lamar sound like more of an alien than he already does. This one gets all sorts of trippy.
Mr. Carmack - Pay (For What)
He can also make music that sounds a little more like what's usually played in the clubs...it's just way better. This one doesn't stray too far from the EDM trap stuff, but it's definitely a fresh take on that sound.
Mr. Carmack - The Next Morning
Mr. Carmack goes full synth on "The Next Morning." The piercing stabs aren't painful though, and are soothed out throughout the mostly chill cut.
Mr. Carmack - Grind (Lex)
A lot of Carmack's tracks are definitely made for turning up the party, but "Grind" isn't really one of those. A smooth, J Dilla-meets-FlyLo cut goes a long way when you're known for inciting intergalactic travel with your tunes.
Mr. Carmack - Bang
"Bang" does just that...BANG. If you can listen to the whole thing without throwin' your hands up, you're a stronger man than I.
Mr. Carmack & Stooki Sound - Uppers
If a song ever NEEDED a "Damn SON! Where'd ya find this?" it is "Uppers." I have no earthly idea where they found these noises, but that's probably because there is nothing earthly about it.
Mr. Carmack - At Night
Proving once again that not every track has to be a club-ready banger, "At Night" is one of the smoothest joints you could ever wish for. It is stunning in its beauty.
Mr. Carmack - The Next Afternoon
You know how sometimes you party the next morning and wake up "the next afternoon"? Well next time you have one of those all-nighters, pass out and then wake back up sometime in the PM, play this song when you hop out of bed...You'll get it.
