For the first time in years, things are finally looking up for Charles Hamilton. The rapper, who basically disappeared after being dropped by Interscope in 2010, recently shared two unreleased albums and announced that he had signed with Republic Records, and now he's given his first interview since 2012. Speaking with Billboard, Hamilton details his troubled time away from music, saying that at one point, he "wanted to commit career suicide, physical suicide, spiritual suicide."
The 27-year-old rapper says he was suffering from undiagnosed bipolar disorder: "I just didn't trust anybody. I didn't leave my house, I just made music all the time. I was fighting depression -- I shut myself in." Thankfully, it sounds like he got a lot of support and will be back to making music shortly.
