Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys seem to be very far apart on contract talks right now.

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys have been engaged in a very public contract dispute and it doesn't seem like things are going to get better anytime soon. Prescott wants to be paid as if he is the best quarterback in the entire NFL. While he is certainly good, he isn't as great as some of the league's best QBs. In fact, he isn't even in the top 5 and he barely cracks the top 10. Regardless, the Cowboys have been ready to throw substantial money at him but Prescott just won't budge, no matter how hard the Cowboys try.

According to NFL reporter Dov Kleiman, Prescott recently turned down a five-year, $175 million deal with the Cowboys and has some pretty hefty demands. Of course, this deal is worth $35 million per year, but Prescott is hoping to make upwards of $45 million in his final season with the team.

It would be interesting to hear Prescott's perspective on all of this considering he is asking for way more than what the market would dictate. As it stands, Russell Wilson is the highest-paid QB in the sport, but Prescott would end up surpassing him. Wilson has a Super Bowl title while Prescott has never made it out of the Divisional Round in the playoffs.

As the summer goes on, the Cowboys and Prescott could find themselves in a peculiar spot.
