The Atlanta Police Department has released Garrett Rolfe's disciplinary record, revealing a lengthy history of conduct complaints.

On Monday, The Atlanta Police Department released the disciplinary histories of each officer involved in the fatal shooting of Rayshard Brooks at a Southwest Atlanta Wendys on Friday night. Officer Devin Brossman, the first of the two cops to arrive at the scene, seems to have a clean record. However, Garrett Rolfe, the officer who killed Brooks, appears to have a lengthy list of alleged misconduct, including a use-of-force complaint which he was reprimanded for in 2017.

Rolfe’s file also reveals 12 additional incidents, including vehicle accidents and citizen’s complaints. Similarly, Derek Chauvin, the officer who killed George Floyd in Minneapolis sparking widespread Black Lives Matter protests, was recently revealed to have received ten previous conduct complaints, none of which he was disciplined for.

Rayshard Brooks, a Black man, was shot twice in the back by officer Rolfe on Friday, after struggling with both officers and taking Rolfe’s taser. The officers were initially dispatched to deal with Brooks passing out in his car in the middle of a Wendys drive-thru.

The APD has since fired Rolfe and placed his partner Brossman on administrative leave. The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office is set to decide soon if they will prosecute either of the officers involved in the incident.
