When it comes to hip-hop success stories, it's hard to top that of Buffalo's Griselda collective. Made up of Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine, and Benny The Butcher, the trifecta of lyricists originally caught attention through their relentless barrage of street raps. After delivering a slew of mixtapes, including many chapters of Westside Gunn's Hitler Wears Hermes series, the crew eventually caught the eye of Eminem, who welcomed Westside Gunn and Griselda into the Shady Records family.

Since then, the crew appears to have doubled down, intensifying their work ethic and delivering one quality release after another. In fact, it's entirely possible that their biggest year thus far recently took place in 2019, with Griselda's What Would Chine Gun Do, Gunn's Hermes 7 and Flygod Is An Awesome God, Conway's Look What I Became, and Benny The Butcher's The Plugs I Met. Clearly, the collective's attention to detail helped solidify their foothold even further, and yesterday they walked away with a "Best Group" nomination at the BET Awards.
Following the big nomination, Westside Gunn took to Instagram to thank those who helped make it all possible. "Thank u to the PPL and Thank u to @bet for nominating GRISELDA for “BEST GROUP," he writes. "This is what hard work looks like, there’s no stopping the BUFFALO KIDS." Conway also fired off some celebratory words, writing "Yeaaahh BITCH!!! Griselda boys has been nominated for the 2020 BET Awards BEST GROUP award!! I gotta pop the biggest spades tonight and celebrate correctly. We been goin hard at this music for YEARS so to see this recognition for all the hard work, blood sweat and tears is gratifying!! Congrats to all the nominees."
Congratulations to Griselda, as well as fellow nominees EarthGang, Migos, Jackboys, City Girls, and Chloe X Halle.
