Na'Kia Crawford wasn't doing anything wrong or illegal when she was fatally shot while in the car with her grandmother in Akron, Ohio. The 18-year-old recent high school graduate was waiting at a traffic light when a white man fired multiple shots into the vehicle, hitting Na'Kia who passed away this week in the hospital.
As we mourn her loss and pray for her family -- including her grandmother who painfully watched her granddaughter die -- G Herbo is calling for justice for the young woman, revealing that he had actually met Na'Kia and took pictures with her.
"BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL YOU COULD HAVE NEVER DONE A THING IN YOUR LIFE TO DESERVE THIS," wrote the Chicago rapper on Instagram. In the picture, Na'Kia Crawford hugs him during what appears to be a meet-and-greet session.
"PRAYERS GO OUT TO YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY #JusticeForNakia SMH WE NEED TO START MAKING SOME DEMANDS FAST," continued Herbo.
Na'Kia Crawford was just 18-years-old, losing her life to senseless violence for literally no reason other than being Black.
Continue to sign petitions, inform yourself, attend protests, and do everything you possibly can to join the fight to end systemic oppression and racism.
Rest in peace, Na'Kia Crawford. You deserved better and your life mattered.
