At this point, the N.W.A. biopic, "Straight Outta Compton", is pretty much under wraps. An extended trailer was just released this week, with actor Corey Hawkins playing the all-important role of Dr. Dre. Generally, the cast is pretty low-profile, with Ice Cube's son, O'Shea Jackson Jr., being the only instantly-recognizable name in the group of actors playing the five members. We knew that Eazy-E's son also auditioned, but now we've learned that an even bigger name tried out for the movie.
In a new interview with comedian Hannibal Buress in Interview magazine, Chance The Rapper reveals that he auditioned for the role of Dr. Dre in the film. Read an excerpt of the interview below, and check out the full thing here.
BURESS: ... Have you auditioned for anything yet for real?
CHANCE: I actually did try out for the N.W.A. movie.
BURESS: Oh, shit.
CHANCE: I read for Dre. But it wasn't in God's plan.
Could you even imagine Chance in that role? Let us know your thoughts.
