You might recall that two years ago, Lloyd Banks announced Cold Corner 3, and at the time, he said it could drop in two weeks time. Well, two weeks has definitely gone and went, and no sign of Cold Corner 3.
Rest assured though, Cold Corner 3 is still in the works, and hopefully on the way sooner rather than later. The G-Unit rapper confirmed it near the end of our interview with him, Tony Yayo, Young Buck and Kidd Kidd. He also speaks on "Jackpot" beat becoming a hit after Bobby Shmurda put it out as "Hot Nigga."
"That beat, wouldn't it be considered a trap beat?," Banks asked. "Now eh? I couldn't rap trap to it two years ago because it woulda been compromising, at least in my eyes, what my core fans were expecting from me. That's like even if a West Coast artist, they come to the city, they might wanna rap over "Deep Cover" or some shit, they wanna show that they can do...but it don't mean his flow is gunna sound like New York, he could still put his sound into it. So that was my way of doing a trap beat, but not rapping a trap cadence. But like now, if you look at a record like "Exclusive," you'll see that I can do that shit, I can rap in similar cadence as the other guys, and they'll get that, cause I got a lot of tracks coming out in the future."
Banks added, "I was happy for Bobby Shmurda cause at the end of the day he got a chance to feed his family and help people out."
As for Cold Corner 3, Banks says he has a few projects in the works but that one is up first. "Right now, they can expect the Cold Corner 3. I been working on that for a minute now. A lot people don't know, but I been working on multiple projects, so when they thinking he just taking forever on one thing, it's not like that."
