A possible suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of Brooklyn rapper Nick Blixky. 28-year-old Caliph Glean is being charged in Philadelphia for illegally possessing ammunition and will appear in federal court, Friday, a spokesman for the Brooklyn U.S. Attorney’s office tells NBC New York.
Witness testimony, surveillance video, and other evidence have reportedly linked Glean to the killing. “There is probable cause to believe that the individual who shot and killed [Blixky] is Glean,” an NYPD officer explained in court documents from Thursday.
Glean was previously convicted of attempted murder in February 2017.
The body of Nick Blixky, real name Nickalus Thompson, was found in Prospect Lefferts Gardens in New York City by police responding to shots fired.
"Upon arrival, officers found an unconscious and unresponsive 21-year-old male, with gunshot wounds to his torso and buttocks," the initial police report reads. "EMS also responded to the scene and transported the individual to NYC Health & Hospitals/Kings County, where he was pronounced deceased."
The rapper's debut project, Different Timin', was released posthumously on June 3. YBN Almighty Jay and Liquez are featured on the project. Blixkey is most-known for his viral single "Drive The Boat." Check out Different Timin' for yourself here.
