Metro Boomin provides a brief (though we'll take it) update on his 21 Savage collaboration album "Savage Mode 2."

It's hard to believe that there was once a time when Metro Boomin's beats were ubiquitous. A testament to his work ethic and creativity. Before long, Metro became the go-to producer for dark bangers, spooky bangers -- bangers period. Look no further than his collaborative work with 21 Savage, namely their modern fan-favorite mixtape Savage Mode; not necessarily a classic in the traditional sense, but significant in what it brought to the table for both parties involved.

As has become the norm in both Hollywood and rap music alike, a sequel has been officially confirmed. Long have we known about the existence of Savage Mode 2, but information about the project's progress is not exactly fruitful. Not long ago, there were reports that it would be releasing in March, but those quickly proved to be unfounded. In truth, it seems as if both parties have been taking their time on the anticipated album, which bodes well for those of us still patiently waiting.

Don't get it twisted. Metro hasn't exactly fallen off the grid entirely. He still comes through to hint at the album's imminent release, as he has done this morning by way of a simple tweet. "I’m in savage mode," he writes, the implication of studio time heavy in the subtext. Of course, the significance behind this "update" depends entirely on Metro's understanding of stirring up hype -- do you think there's fire behind this particular smoke? And more importantly, are you excited to see 21 and Metro triumphant return?
