T.I. reveals details of the conversation he had with Snoop Dogg following his social media attack of Iggy Azalea.

T.I. is becoming known as much for diffusing tense situations as he is for his musical output. Tip has done everything from talk down a jumper, to making peace between Rick Ross and Jeezy over the last couple of years, but his most recent crusade was on behalf of his friend and frequent collaborator, Iggy Azalea.

Snoop Dogg launched what seemed to be a random attack on Iggy Azalea on his Instagram last week. When she responded to the tasteless image The Doggfather posted of her, he proceeded to accelerate his social media assault, eventually making threats and misogynistic remarks.

Later on, he posted a video apologizing for his behavior, explaining that he and T.I. had worked things out, but so far, that's the only side of the story we've heard. In a new MTV interview, T.I. opened up about what was said in his phone conversation with Snoop.

“I stepped in when it became a public topic of discussion,” the Paperwork rapper said of his choice to intervene. “When it stopped being between two people and it was being observed by the world, and it was almost like people were tuning in just to see what was happening next.”

T.I. revealed that the conversation was very rational, due to the mutual respect between himself and Snoop. “Me and Snoop have a long-standing personal and professional relationship,” he said. “I have a huge amount of admiration, love and respect for him and for what he’s done for the game — for people like me to be able to do what we do — and when I called him it was a very, very, very cordial, respectful [conversation].”

Apparently, Tip's choice to reach out was enough to get Snoop to see the error in his ways. “He immediately said he knew what I was calling about and just assured me [that it was] nothing to even worry about. It’s over with. And we started talking about something else immediately," he said, making it clear that the rapper apologized of his own accord. "I didn’t make Snoop do anything.”
