Last week quite a bit of Rich Homie Quan music hit the net, some of which was released officially, and some of which was leaked. In addition to his "Blah Blah Blah" remix, we got eight records the rapper did with frequent collaborator Young Thug, reportedly for Tha Tour Part 2, plus a Drake-featured song (and the plot thickens: that Drizzy verse has now landed on OB OBrien's "Schemin' Up").
Our host Baker recently caught up with Rich Homie, and in addition to finding out how he felt about the leaks, we got a release date for the follow-up to Tha Tour Part 1, however tentative: "I would say, I think, Christmas eve," Rich Homie Quan said of when to expect Tha Tour Part 2. He continued, "A lot of the same producers from the first one, basically just picking it up from where we left off at."
The Atlanta native also spoke on working with Drake, and admitted to being upset about the leak, but promised there's more where that came from. "Drake cool, 'nah I mean," Rich Homie told us. "We worked together on the tour, Wiz Khalifa tour, when we was in Canada he invited me out to his crib. That song leaked, but we still got more songs to come. When it leaked I was mad, but it just make me go harder."
As for the long-awaited debut album, it sounds like Rich Homie Quan still has a ways to go. "Probably like 30% in," he said of the album's completion. "But it will be dropping the second quarter of 2015." He ended the interview by revealing yet another project in the works: "I will be dropping my first EP in January. 5-song EP, first time doing this. It's untitled, but it's a new sound, anew year, a new Quan."
