TeeFlii talks with HotNewHipHop about his debut album "Starr" and what will follow it.

TeeFlii's name is buzzing these days, and rightly so, as the West Coast native is about to drop his anticipated debut album Starr. He's been heavy on the mixtape circuit for awhile, including his AnnieRUO'Tay series, but with singles like "24 Hours" he's about to takeover.

Last week while the singer was doing press for Starr we had a sit-down with him, to discuss his transition from gospel to r'n'b, the new album, and future projects.

After discussing how his love of gospel soon trickled over into r'n'b, he spoke about being a back up dancer for Chris Brown and teaching the mega r'n'b star a thing or two. "I started out with Chris Brown. I danced behind him, taught him a lot about Krump, got him into the krump game [and] L.A. period. Just showed him how this dancing movement work," TeeFlii revealed. As for his DJ Mustard connection (who produced his entire Fireworks mixtape), "I actually got to meet Mustard through my cousin, Ace, he's a CEO over there with YG. Pushaz Ink, that's the other family. DJ Mustard though, he just, with welcome arms accepted me."

While TeeFlii was obviously excited about the imminent release of Starr, which contains an all-star cast including Dom Kennedy, Nipsey Hussle, DJ Quik, E-40, Chris Brown and more, the singer confirmed a mixtape would follow the LP. "Mixtape's coming after the album, you already know. It's gon' get ratchet! It's gon' get ratchet. We ratchet over here." Later on, he says he's working with DJ Mustard on two mixtapes-- "After the album drop we got big plans. We gon' put out two mixtapes, it's going down."

Finally, he spoke on a dream collaboration with none other than The-Dream. His idea actually sounds extremely dope, let's hope Terius Nash sees this and reaches out (!!). "I wanna work with The-Dream for my own reasons though," TeeFlii said. "We gotta do an Annies Vs. Shawtys mixtape. Or it could be an EP, it might just be an album you never know. But I wanna see...Annie probably more ratchet than Shawty in my eyes. We ain't gon' start nothing though."

Watch the full interview below, where he discusses what to expect from the new album. Cop Starr here.
