There has been a lot of speculation regarding how things will go down once the UFC starts back up. Dana White previously announced that he would be using an island, titled Fight Island, to resume the match calendar post-COVID and now, he has revealed some of the fights we can expect to witness.
In addition to revealing that the island is situated in Abu Dhabi on Yas Island, White revealed some of the headline bouts he's planning.
According to him, a rematch between Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway will be one of the main draws from the planned fight. Their first face-off ended in victory for Volkanovski, who won by unanimous decision in December 2019.
Another one that people are excited about is Kamaru Osman vs. Gilbert Burns. Their fight will headline UFC 251 on July 11, which is the first of four dates confirmed on Fight Island.
Other events will be held on July 15, July 18, and July 25.
Two other bouts are planned to christen the island, including Petr Yan vs. Jose Aldo and Jessica Andrade vs. Rose Namajunas. White is also working on several other fights that have not been confirmed yet, including Fabricio Werdum vs. Alexander Gustafsson, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Shogun Rua, and Robert Whittaker vs. Darren Till.
White has a private airline set up to ensure that fighters are safely traveling to and from the island. He also confirmed that testing measures will be adhered to, keeping everybody safe and corona-free.
