Kodak Black is giving his fans the opportunity to prove their loyalty to him, and in exchange, he'll drop his next album from behind bars. After Kodak Black came through with his promise to drop a Valentine's Day anthem, fans got to see a more vulnerable side to him on "Because Of You." Since Kodak's been locked up, he's been able to offer sporadic updates about his experiences behind bars, and they have not often been positive. It seems like Kodak really needs a win, as he took to Instagram on Saturday to make a deal with his fans regarding the romantic single.
Sharing a clip from the track's accompanying visuals, Kodak wrote, "If This Go Platinum B4 My Birthday Ima Drop A Album." However, he explained, if his supporters do not succeed in making this happen, "Ya’ll Gotta Wait Till I Come Home #Truly." While Kodak's birthday, which falls on June 11th, is still nearly four months away, his fans better get to streaming if they want to hear what he's been cooking up in prison. However, on the unfortunate chance that the single fails to go platinum, it's uncertain when exactly the album will drop, due to the tentative nature of Kodak's release date.
Kodak's current release date is scheduled for August 14th, 2022; however, after the recent news that he's filed to appeal his sentence on the grounds that the improper guidelines were used to prepare his lengthy sentence, he may be getting out much earlier. This causes the status of his release to be somewhat up in the air at the moment, but regardless, if "Because Of You" does go platinum by June 11th, fans will get to hear a whole body of work from Kodak sooner rather than later.
