Here goes the first week sales for Common's tenth studio album, Nobody's Smiling, which also marked his departure from G.O.O.D. Music as he joined No I.D.'s Def Jam imprint. The album was also entirely produced by No I.D.
The album, which shed light on Chicago's violent youth, didn't do anything too astronomical, but managed a #5 debut on the Billboard 200, selling 24,000 units opening week. If we compare this to Com's last studio album, The Dreamer/The Believer, we see he actually made a higher chart debut this time around, although his sales for The Dreamer/The Believer were higher (69,000 units opening week, with a #18 debut in 2011). Nobody's Smiling is his highest-charting debut since 2007's stand-out Finding Forever.
