If you're on Twitter daily, you probably noticed an influx of hate-tweets directed to Karrueche Tran in the past few days, after she read an insensitive joke about Blue Ivy's hair while on BET.
Following the MTV VMAs, where Blue Ivy stole the show simply by clapping her hands along to her mom's performance, BET's 106 & Park ran a segment where they did "Six Things Blue Ivy Was Thinking During The VMAs." One item that made the list referenced the fact that Blue Ivy's got a bit of an ungroomed afro going on, with Karrueche saying, "'I really did wake up like this because my parents never combed my hair.'" She quickly added, "Sorry, Blue! I love you!" However, the damage was done, and Beyonce's loyal fanbase proceeded to go in on Karrueche after the show aired.
Chris Brown's girlfriend offered her own apology via Twitter and Instagram saying she didn't write the script, but now Stephen Hill, the president of music programming and specials for BET Networks, has also issued an apology for the comment via his Twitter. [Update: Producer Reportedly Suspended]
The negative reception of a joke concerning Blue Ivy's hair on 106 & Park this week has already spurred an apology run, but according to sources it hasn't stopped the channel from suspending a producer over the comments.
No details of the suspension are known at this time, but it seems as though no one from BET (or anyone for that matter) will be cracking wise about Jay Z and Beyonce's daughter anytime soon.
Is the suspension warranted?
