"Framework" to premiere on January 6th.

Common Sense has been known to stretch his résumé into a variety of fields outside of music, earning himself principal acting gigs on television and film, as well as doing a little bit of activism and modeling on the side. Com's latest endeavor, however, is outside the box even for him.

According to a release from Spike TV, the Nobody's Smiling emcee is taking his talents to "Framework," a television series in which aspiring furniture designers compete for a cash prize of $100,000 and the opportunity to have their work sold by a major retailer.

"Throughout his career as an artist, Common has been on the cutting edge of trends and brings his keen eye for style and understanding of consumer desire to the competition," said a synopsis of the series. Contestants on the show “work with unconventional materials and will be asked to rethink classic designs and demonstrate their creativity.” As host, Com will also take on judging duties, eliminating a designer during every week of the competition.

"Framework" is scheduled to premiere on January 6. Check out a preview below.
