One of Compton rapper YG's most popular songs to date guises itself as a social activism anthem. "FDT" is an anti-Trump record, performed by YG and Nipsey Hussle, and it has become significantly resonant to the rapper's brand. After everything that he has witnessed in recent weeks, it looks like the sequel is on the way. However, YG is aiming his lyrical weapons at a force more widespread than Donald Trump.
"#FUCKTHEPOLICE this week," wrote YG on social media, posting a copy of his cover art, which is very understated. The artwork has the three letters "FTP" and a parental advisory sticker.
The announcement has already been co-signed by the likes of Tyga and Ohgeesy from Shoreline Mafia.
Although YG did not specify the date of the release, it's likely that it will be out at the end of this week. If he doesn't care about charting figures, he may go for a release earlier in the week for larger impact.
He's not alone in releasing music to combat all that has arisen this week with protests and riots breaking out across the nation. Conway The Machine, Denzel Curry, Ty Dolla $ign and more have all recorded songs about the aftermath of George Floyd's murder.
Will you keep an eye out for this one?
