Kodak Black is gearing up to sue a police officer who snapped a photo of him in handcuffs last year.

Kodak Black's lawyer is getting back to work, this time preparing a lawsuit against the parties responsible for distributing a photo of the rapper in handcuffs from his arrest last year.

The rapper, whose real name is Bill K. Kapri, was arrested on the day he was supposed to perform at Rolling Loud Festival in Miami. Confirming his arrest, a photo started circulating across the internet of Kodak Black in handcuffs, smiling after being taken into police custody. The photo has irked the artist for a minute and now, it looks like he's taking action against the federal officer who snapped it.

According to a new report, which includes documents from Kodak's lawyer Bradford Cohen, a Miami-Dade cop was instructed to take the photo of Black while he was in custody. However, the shot, which was taken without his permission, was seemingly instructed by a high-ranking official despite there being no law enforcement reason to take it.

Cohen claims that the picture, which ended up in the hands of a local newspaper, was taken for personal gain and not for any legitimate reason.

Legal action is being taken against the U.S. Marshals Service. Kodak Black is currently set to be released from prison in 2022.
