It looks like August Alsina's getting busy these days, especially since there's a new album in the pipeline. Though it's only been a little over a year since the release of his last project, the rapper's released new music in December and this weekend, he came through with back to back singles.
Today, Alsina unleashed his latest single, "Rounds" following this weekend's homage to his city on "NOLA." Flexing his ability to weave between singing and rapping, he merges both styles over a luscious yet muddy instrumental that includes muffled R&B samples and chopped-and-screwed vocals.
His latest singles are off his forthcoming project, The Product III: stateofEMERGEncy, which is due out this Friday, June 26th. Keep your eyes peeled for that and check out August's new single below.
Quotable Lyrics
Shout out my n***s out the 818 and 404
But this one for my N.O. rounds and my Houston folk
Held me down for sure
Taught me to not cook when n***as get buck
Dirty Sprite all in my cup
Drip, drip, all down my truck
Break the rocks down and serve it up
