Atlanta's own Key! has officially come through with another brand new album in I Love You Say It Back, taking a moment to bring some much-needed romance into the game through a concentrated dose of ten tracks. Once again reuniting with Kenny Beats, with whom he connected on the collaborative 777, as well as TrapMoneyBenny (of "In My Feelings" fame) and FKi 1st, Key!'s latest is expectedly lush and lined with bouncy flows. In fact, there are some who might even champion him as one of Atlanta's most slept on artists, boasting a consistent body of work to his name.
An early examination of I Love You Say It Back seems quite promising, with opening track "Bottom Of The Bottle" kicking things off on a strong note; boasting some slow-burning production, Key takes to triumphant pianos and synthesizers as they rise to a crescendo. Vibe-wise, we're looking at a relatively lighthearted release, with production hardly deviating into darker territory -- a quality that in itself makes the album standout, as many ATL rappers tend to favor minor key and borderline spooky instrumentals. Wholly original, confident, and vibrant, I Love You Say It Back should prove a treat for Key! fans both longtime and casual -- check it out for yourself.
