Tsu Surf has returned to the fold with his brand new album MSYKM, a thirteen-track effort featuring guest appearances from Benny The Butcher, Dave East, G Herbo, Jim Jones, and many more. As fans have come to expect from the lyricist slash battle-rapper, Surf's latest is lined with bars from start to finish. The project also features a diverse array of production styles and flows from the New Jersey rapper, beginning with the explosive introductory cut "3:27 AM" and carrying onward till the climactic "Quarantine Tales."
Deftly slapping aside the stereotype that battle rappers can't succeed as solo artists, Surf holds his on no matter who he's standing alongside. On "Blacc Cream," an arguable highlight, Surf stands equal to Benny The Butcher as they trade bars over hypnotic production. "Nana Crib" finds him exploring emotional territory, sharing the stage with G Herbo as he paints a picture of his struggle. On "Cold Winters," Surf and Dave East take to a wailing saxophone as they wax poetic, but make no mistake -- Surf is more than capable of standing on carrying this one on his shoulders. Be sure to check out the new project now.
