At the beginning of the year, producer Scoop Deville sat down with Vlad TV and revealed that he had produced a monster collaboration between Busta Rhymes & Eminem. After months of anticipation, it appears that the record, "Calm Down", will finally be arriving next Tuesday, July 1st.
"That's the next record that's going to, I'd say, destroy the streets of New York and hip-hop in a lot of ways," Scoop said. "That record is something that we've been putting together for a minute. It's not just like an overnight thing. We've been trying to make this THE record to bring back Busta in a major way."
Earlier in the year, Busta also commented on the record and just like Scoop, described it as a 6-minute lyrical onslaught that mimics a rap battle the way each rapper attacks the mic. Busta stated:
"I've got a six-minute record with Eminem that sounds like we are respectfully trying to battle each other in a way that you probably never heard us battle in our entire careers on a record," he said. "So it's lot of real incredibly golden moments for us on this project."
Sounds good to us. The track will be the newest single off Busta’s upcoming album Extinction Level Event 2, which will serve as the sequel to Busta's 1998 classic Extinction Level Event: The Final World Front. The album will include tracks like "Twerk It" with Nicki Minaj as well as "Thank You", which features Lil Wayne,Kanye West and Q-Tip. It's rumoured to be dropping in November.
Check out Busta’s tweet from tonight that verifies the release date below.
