Robin Thicke returns with his first single of the year in the form of the shamelessly romantic, "Forever Mine." It's been exactly eight months since Robin released his most recent track, "When You Love Somebody," and now, he's back true to form with an equally amorous slow jam. When asked about the message behind the new tune, Robin said, "When you meet the perfect someone, you can’t let them slip away."
However, this song holds an even more special signficance for Robin. "'Forever Mine' was the last record I finished with Andre Harrell, my mentor, executive producer, and Godfather to my son, Julian." Andre, a renowned music exec and founder of Uptown records, passed away earlier this month on May 7th, 2020, reportedly from heart failure. During BET and REVOLT's A Tribute to Andre Harrell: Mr. Champagne & Bubbles special this past Sunday (May 24th), Robin revealed that, prior to his death, Andre had given his "stamp of approval" on the song. Check out "Forever Mine" and let us know what you think.
Quotable Lyrics
Forever mine
Before each other
Dance like no other
Once in a lifetime, oooh
Can't let a love like this pass you by
Tell me your stories
And I will tell you mine
I don't mind living in paradise
