When it comes to spitting bars, Jarren Benton tends to be one of hip-hop's more slept on lyricists. Yet that hasn't stopped his consistency, and today the rapper has come through with a new banger called "Burn It Down," uniting with DJ Hoppa and Demrick for the assist. Taking to an underground-heavy instrumental, driven by the guiding presence of a harp, Benton quickly establishes an impressive flow scheme.
"Where the love at, some days I wake up like fuck rap, I turn that bitch into a bloodbath," he raps, in his opening lines. "See the greedy never get enough cash, sleep with pistols underneath the pillowcase a muthafucka wanna trespass." A palpable sense of hunger in his voice, there's a case to be made that Benton can flow alongside some of the game's elite. And Demrick ain't too shabby either, a veteran of Xzibit and B-Real's Serial Killers collective who more than lives up to his reputation on this one. Check it out for yourself now, and sound off -- will you be putting them on your radar?
