Many artists have already spoken up in solidarity with the protesters standing up for racial equality and seeking justice for George Floyd. Today, Teejayx6 joins the ranks, dropping off a new track called "Black Lives Matter," alongside the hashtag of "#RIPGEORGEFLOYD." The track arrives produced by TM88, who provides the Detroit scam-rapper with a chilly, industrial-sounding backdrop for his message.
"I can't even go outside no more, I'll get shot for being innocent," he begins. "Killed my people for no damn reason, so now we about to come loot your white businesses / I was trying to protest but the police keep asking me questions, get the fuck out my business." As his later bars reveal, Teejay is in no mood for reconciliation, instead opting to seek revenge. It's a feeling that many have been holding onto in light of increased police escalation, fueled by the President's calls for "Domination." At this point, it won't be surprising to hear that rappers are fed up of the system, and looking to rebel through their chosen form of expression.
For Teejay, the rebellion begins with "Black Lives Matter."
