Kanye West hasn't been much for ranting these days, but he still managed to get the media all up in arms when he urged fans at an Australia "Yeezus" show to stand up, only to find out one of the fans was in a wheelchair.
As the Australian leg of the "Yeezus" tour continues, Kanye has responded to the media's criticism and attention of his comments during his latest stop in Brisbane. In addition to Ye responding, his wife Kim Kardashian has also come to the rapper's defense.
During his Brisbane show Kanye reiterated the fact that he's a "married Christian man."
"If I didn’t have this last concert, maybe I would’ve tweeted something or put out a statement with a publicist, but I can talk directly to you — my fans. Because they’ve got this thing where they want the masses — people who’ve never heard my albums — to somehow read a headline that reads negative, and think that I’m a bad person or somethin’," he told the crowd.
He continued later, "I’m a married Christian man with a family. At my concerts, I make sure everybody has as good a time as possible. So all this demonizing me, it aint’ goin’ to work after a while. Pick a new target. Pick a new target. Because I’m not one of these dumbass artists that you’re used to. You come at me, I’m going to take my platform and break this shit down for real, intelligent people every night. And then, we’ll get back to the music."
Kim Kardashian had this to say: "It's frustrating that something so awesome could be clouded by lies in the media. Kanye never asked anyone in a wheel chair to stand up & the audience videos show that. He asked for everyone to stand up & dance UNLESS they were in a wheel chair."
