Anthony Hamilton returns with some soulful vibes for your week.

Anthony Hamilton is invoking the spirit of Rick James and Teena Marie, with the help of 9th Wonder, on his latest single, "Back Together." Hamilton and 9th Wonder link up for a soulful and smooth single that samples Rick James and Teena Marie's classic record, "Fire and Desire."

“Growing up listening to ‘Super Freak’ and ‘Fire and Desire’ made it impossible not to want to sing,” Hamilton said in a statement. “9th Wonder flipped the sample right in front of me. I wrote the song in a way to make it feel like Rick was singing along with me.”

9th Wonder's sample work and Anthony Hamilton deliver a dose of a nostalgia with the imagination of Rick James and Teena Marie's 1981 duet.

Quotable Lyrics
So much for lovin' you so hard
We go through things anyway
It makes it hard for you to leave him
Why can't it all just change
