Daylyt has seemingly appeared at the top of the game from out of nowhere. After making his television debut last week on the Shady Films reality series "Road to Total Slaughter," the battle rapper turned heads on Ab-Soul’s These Days… with an extended verse hidden on the album's closing track. The hype surrounding the rapper, meanwhile, keeps on coming in.
Releasing a video yesterday (June 24), Daylyt announced that the Ab-Soul battle footage would be released and shared plans to battle another "big" TDE member this summer among other big plans.
"I got a show coming up called Welcome To Daylyt’s World, which will be going down on Adult Swim," he says. "I got a lot of stuff in the works right now and Battle Rap is the last thing I’m worried about right now. Also, big shouts out to Ab-Soul. Ya’ll can go check out that These Days… album today. On the last track, Daylyt versus Ab-Soul, the footage will be coming out soon. So, be on the look-out for that.
“I’ve made it to the level where I’m clearly outside of Battle Rap,” he says later. “I battled Ab-Soul. I got another TDE member coming up in August, which is a big TDE member. This is gonna be a big event for the West Coast. I’m done with battling these regular cats. It’s over with for me. I don’t really care for that type of stuff. My album is in the process, Look Into My Head. Everything is in the works.”
Perhaps the biggest piece of information to come from the video, however, is saved for the closing remarks.
“Big shouts out to Eminem for making that legit,” the emcee says. “Daylyt is an official member of Shady Records."

[Update: Label Source Says It's Not True]
Many were surprised to hear that Daylyt had apparently been signed to Shady Records, in fact many called out the battle rapper for trolling the blogosphere. That seems to have been the case, as a source at the record label confirms with MTV today that Dalyly is not signed to Shady.
"Daylyt is immensely talented and is cool with everyone up here but is not signed to Shady. #totalslaughter," the source said.
We'll keep you updated if the signing eventually becomes a reality.
