While becoming a superstar in the rap game is no easy feat, it would appear that a popular artist's biggest challenge arises after hitting that particular milestone. Which is to say, retaining interest and preventing the once-loyal fans from turning their back in anger. For Migos, who once soared so highly with the release of Culture and its mixtape predecessors, it's been anything but smooth sailing since.
Fans have been highly critical of everything they have come to release, to the point where the hype for Culture III feels like it's at a low point. Now, with the release of their brand new single "Racks 2 Skinny," it would appear the group is ready to kick the momentum up a notch. Off the bat, they're coming equipped with a dark and up-tempo instrumental, the likes of which have become fodder for Offset, Quavo, and Takeoff.
On that note, all three rappers take turns bodying the track with little time for anything else; as such, it's easy to call "Racks 2 Skinny" the best new single we've seen from Migos in a minute, and a promising sign for the upcoming Quarantine Mixtape Quavo promised a few weeks back. Check it out for yourself below, and sound off -- which of the three Migos had the best verse?
QUOTABLE LYRICS
Two hunned cash with a mag in my drawer
I’m pullin’ strings like I play the guitar
Dracos and MACs we ready for war
We petty, we spend every day with them cut up machete
I spend a little lettuce, he sent to the medics
My money come steady, somebody die, only way I can dead it
