Cypress Hill held it down for their Spanish speaking fans with this badass version of "Tequila Sunrise."

Today marks the arrival of Cinco De Mayo, so it feels appropriate to highlight one of hip-hop's Mexican legends, B-Real of Cypress Hill. Long before he was changing the game as a cannabis mogul, he was putting in work behind the mic. Together with Cypress, B held it down on nine studio albums, including the 1998 standout Cypress Hill IV. That particular album not only boasts an iconic and spooky album cover, but it also birthed a few of the group's classic singles -- including "Tequila Sunrise," which subsequently went on to birth an equally-hard-hitting Spanish Version.

As Cinco De Mayo is indeed the day, we've chosen to highlight the Spanish variant of the guitar-driven banger. A clear relic of a simpler time, when instrumentals were driven by a steady boom-bap drum arrangement and a vaguely sampled-loop, "Tequila Sunrise" finds B-Real laying dexterously laying down bars in Spanish -- furthering the immersion already conjured by the DJ-Muggs produced beat. Should you feel like paying homage to one of hip-hop's prominent Mexican emcees, look no further than this Cypress Hill classic.
