Rumors have been speculating for quite some time that Australian emcee Iggy Azalea has been relying on ghostwriters--namely her former label head T.I.--to pen her major hits. Well, now we can put that particular story to rest.
“I mean, I ain’t no ghostwriter,” T.I. claimed in a recently-published video Bijou Star TV. “Iggy got her own ideas and thoughts that she presents to the world her own way. I couldn’t write a lot of the shit she say, you know? I couldn’t put her thoughts into words as articulate as she does. You know what I’m saying? She just has a different way of presenting herself and her art. So, I mean—Now don’t get me wrong, everybody in the studio helps with hooks and certain things like that. That goes for me and any of the other top five rappers, performers; you want the best ideas.”
The rapper also touched on the end of his Family Hustle series and his evolution as an artist.
“Really, I just want to continue to evolve as an artist and re-present myself,” he said. “Let people find new things to learn and like about T.I. You gotta grow as a person. An artist is just an extension of you as a person. So, as a person you must grow. So, as an artist it’s inevitable.”
