Get two minutes into NYC rapper Dot Demo's Delta Theory and you'll have already heard an interlude about "mind sciences" and the lack of human connection in the modern age, a dance beat and 60 seconds of thrilling rapping. How could you not want to continue on?
The tape makes for Dot's HNHH debut, but he sounds like he's been here for years. Hitting the ground with versatility and skills for days, the BX native runs through different sounds like it's nothing. "Kopy Kool" visits the South, "D4L" deviates into A$AP-esque territory, "BMW" is a Dilla-style, off-kilter funk romp, and the rest of the tape explores the outer reaches of boom-bap.
