Gucci Mane's been behind bars for the last eleven months, awaiting the verdict of a firearms charge that stems from an incident last September, and today, the judge made the final ruling. Pleading guilty to possession of a Glock 40-caliber handgun and 11 rounds of ammunition, Gucci Mane was sentenced to 39 months in jail, and an additional three years of probation.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the 1017 boss "asked the judge to recommend he serve his sentence in a west coast prison with a drug rehab program to allow him to get away from local influences in Atlanta."
As he's already served time for eleven months, he's got 28 to go, and will likely get out in December 2016. Despite the sentence, U.S. District Court Judge Steve Jones, told GuWop that, though he's unfamiliar with the ATL rapper's music, "young people – my nieces and nephews – tell me you are quite cool."
