The competition between HOT 97 and Power 105 is real. We saw radio personality Angie Martinez switch sides earlier this year, leaving her longtime spot on HOT for a deal with Power, and it's now been revealed that the former has been in possession of the Power105.com domain name since 2000.
As discovered by Complex, 97 has been withholding the naturally desirable website from their competitors for the last fourteen years, and apparently it'll remain with them until 2017. To add insult to injury, the domain leads directly to HOT 97's website.
Power have subsequently had to settle for the considerably less sleak www.Power1051fm.com as a result, which we're sure has their blood boiling. The radio war won't be ending any time soon it seems, and the cheap shots continue to roll in from both sides.
