Mariah Carey album, tentatively titled The Art Of Letting Go, has had a rocky road thus far.The singer covered Billboard magazine with a black and white close-up shot, and inside the magazine, she spoke on her new plans for the album's roll out, featured artists, and the trouble she's experienced with getting her singles off the ground.
Mariah Carey is now planning a surprise release for the new album, inspired by Beyonce's move. The cover art, tracklist, the album title and the music will be released all at once through digital partners, followed the next week with the physical copies. You can expect collaborations with a range of artists and producers, including more current ones like Hit-Boy and Mike WiLL Made It as well as OGs like Jermaine Dupri and Rodney Jerkins. There will also be features from Nas, Wale and Trey Songz plus "a special guest star that she’s not allowed to reveal."
As for her previous singles that failed to really make an impression, "You would think I would be all about the singles-driven situation, and I am in a way, but with this particular album I want my fans to hear it as a body of work," she says. "This is my life since we last left off. Just picture a dot dot dot, and then here’s the album."
