Damiyah Telemaque-Nelson, who was diagnosed with cancer in October 2013, had one wish-- to meet Nicki Minaj, and score one of her iconic pink wigs. The story got the attention of Washington Wizards point guard, John Wall, who used his Instagram account to alert Nicki of Damiyah's wish.
“Fans I need your help to get my buddy Miyah’s wish granted. She’s a 5 year old battling cancer and her wish is to meet @NickiMinaj and get one of her pink wigs! I need your help, comment on this photo. Let’s get Miyah’s one of Nicki’s pink wigs!", he wrote.
Minaj was quick to respond through her Instagram profile, fully on board with the cause. “Hi Miyah!!!!” she said. “Let’s see what we can come up with for a pretty little princess. ;)”
The Pink Friday rapper ended up meeting with Damiyah this Sunday, bringing along the requested pink wig, as well as taking some photos with the young fan.
Nicki later posted the photos to her Instagram, captioning them “Looks like operation #helpMiyahMeetNicki was a success! #PinkWig4Miyah ~ Thank you @john_wall ;) she’s perfect!”.
