The long-awaited N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton finally began filming last week, but it's already suffered what could have been a tragedy on set, when crew members were caught within a drive-by shooting. Thankfully, only one civilian was hurt, and is said to be making a good recovery.
Things are still pushing ahead despite the violent start to filming, and another star has been added to the cast, Hollywood actor Paul Giamatti. Known for his roles in "Sideways", "12 Years A Slave", and "Cinderella Man", Giamatti will play Jerry Heller, the controversial manager of N.W.A. in the new film.
Heller was also the co-founder of Ruthless Records alongside Eazy E, and his fallout with some of the group members was partially responsible for Dr. Dre and Ice Cube's split from the crew.
The film is set to hit theatres August 15, 2015.
