We've seen Pharrell blossom into a full-fledged hit-maker and pop culture guru over the past few years. He's seen a ton of solo success with his hit single "Happy" and his chart-topping G I R L album, but nonetheless, fans want the old rapping Skateboard P to return, and if that comes with an N.E.R.D reunion, all the better.
During a recent live performance at the iTunes Festival in London, 2/3 of N.E.R.D reunited on stage and hinted that we may possibly be hearing new music from the crew soon. Shay Haley joined Pharrell to perform classic joints like "Rockstar", "Lapdance" and "She Wants To Move", according to Mass Appeal (via MissInfo). After those records, Haley reportedly told the crowd, "It feels good to be back in London. When we released our first album back in 2001 and first crossed the Atlantic, this was the first place to embrace us. You’re gonna like this shit we’re gonna release…"
Pharrell continued his train of thought, saying, "There will always be an N.E.R.D … I’m happy to be a nerd; the bullies lost, the nerds win."
Is it time to get excited yet? We'll keep you updated on the N.E.R.D developments.
