Despite being labeled as a rock band (?), The Neighborhood are proving there really isn't one specific genre they fit into. Their new mixtape, which has the DJ Drama co-sign as he handles hosting duties, is a smooth mix of r'n'b and hip-hop, perhaps with alt-indie-rock undertones (but really, it feels like hip-hop/r'n'b). This is helped along with rap features to compliment their production and their singing, with appearances from Skeme, YG, Danny Brown, DeJ Loaf, OG Maco and more.
"When I Get Back" is an undeniably smooth record, with the group California dreaming about when they'll return to the West Coast. Bay Area native G-Eazy comes through with a verse to cap it off.

Quotable Lyrics
Everybody wants a favor or a slice of your pie
Live a fast life, I'ma either get rich or die
So I pass out faded and I dream of home
Thinkin' bout the time I really need alone
