The first week sales projections for Lecrae's Anomaly and Jhene Aiko's Souled Out are in, and they're not what you might imagine. Expected to hit the number one spot this week, Lecrae's Anomaly is looking end its first seven-day period with a solid 75,000-80,000 copies sold--an impressive figure for a "Christian Hip-Hop" artist. Lecrae's last album, Gravity, debuted to similar numbers and sold in excess of 150,000 copies before falling off the charts.
Aiko, meanwhile, is holding her own. Projected to finish the week a touch lower than Lecrae at 70,000-75,000 units moved, the R&B songstress' major label debut will more than double the first-week sales of her critically-acclaimed Sail Out EP. It should be noted that Sail Out debuted on soft note but soon became a chart mainstay, currently having moved roughly 300,000 copies. Should history repeat itself, it's likely that Souled Out will outperform Anomaly in the long run.
This will be Lecrae's first number one album on the Billboard charts if Aiko doesn't manage to dethrone him by the end of the weekend.
