Khalid represents the San Fernando Valley, and his sound is a merger of a couple of different West Coast styles. First there's the DJ Mustard influence, which has spread far beyond California and become a part of the general rap climate at this point, but more interestingly, the screeching synth-work of classic G-Funk. Look out for more from Khalid, as he surely has some more interesting material up his sleeve.
