Drake has reportedly paid Rappin' 4-Tay $100,000 after being called out for referencing his lyrics on "Who Do You Love?"

Rappers are constantly quoting one another in songs. Sometimes it's enough to justify a writing credit, while other times its simply a subtle nod or easter egg to those who know the original source. Drake's verse on YG's "Who Do You Love" certainly falls into the latter category, though Rappin 4-Tay-- the emcee Drizzy interpolates on the verse --felt he should have been compensated.

4-Tay called Drake out on Twitter for the lack of credit, and it seems the two rappers have now come to an out-of-court agreement. According to TMZ, Drizzy has shelled out $100,000 to 4-Tay for using elements of his verse from the 1994 record "Playaz Club"

You can take a look at the similarities in the lyrics here. Do you think 4-Tay deserves a payday? Or was Drake's subtle shout out a blessing in itself?

[UPDATE: Rappin' 4-Tay's Manager Disputes Amount]

Rappin' 4-Tay's manager has spoken up about the alleged amount Drake forked over in order to borrow his lyrics on YG's "Who Do You Love." According to 4-Tay's manager, Herman Watson, that $100k figure is a "low-ass number."

Watson spoke to HipHopDX about the recent pay day 4-Tay received courtesy of Drizzy (who coincidentally has been giving him more media coverage in the last 24 hours than he's received in quite some time), and said, "the real number is sky-high." Watson continued, "That [$100,000] they reported is a low-ass number. TMZ made it seem like It was a one time thing to shut him up. There's also royalties involved, and continuous payment. This is forever. This is a part of his 'Playaz Club' package from here on."

Watson said he wanted to set the record straight for the fans, "We had a lot of the fans on the Internet saying, 'Why did you settle for that?’ We don't want that misunderstanding. We're not gonna disclose the numbers, but it's way more than that shit that was reported."
