Although it's not too often you'll diss Drake and hear a reply from him, Drizzy decided that Wimbeldon tennis player Nick Kyrgios' slight shot at his music warranted a response.
19-year Nick Kyrgios, an Australian tennis player, created quite a bit of buzz for himself when he beat Rafa Nadal in the fourth round of Wimbledon. He almost lost said buzz when he had a poor start with his third-round opponent, Jiri Vesely (whom he did end up beating). During a post-match interview, Kyrgios lay the blame on none other than Drake's music.
"Today was a bit of rap, actually," he told reporters at Wimbledon. "I came out really flat, so hopefully I won't listen to that again. It was actually Drake. Yeah. Didn't do the job for me."
Drake caught wind of this and actually responded during a conference call with ESPN, one week ahead of his hosting duties at the ESPYs.
"I also want to meet this guy that says that he lost because he listened to my music," Drake said of Nick Kyrgios. "I also want to meet that guy and look him in the eye and see exactly who he is as a man and size him up and then chop him right down. Nick whatever-his-name-is because he didn't win, so that's how he's going to be remembered: 'Nick whatever-his-name-is.'"
Nick has since responded via Twitter, which you can read below.
