Iggy Azalea had a hard time finding a single to connect with audiences. The rapper experienced many delays of her debut album The New Classic, and much of that can probably be attributed to her singles' underwhelming performances.
"Fancy" was actually the fourth release from the record, and broke through just before the album hit stores, giving the record a bigger opening week than anyone could have expected.
The single has only gained momentum since the album's release, and today it was announced that it had achieved platinum status.
The Charli XCX-assisted cut is currently at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, selling 234 thousand copies this week.
