Pete Davidson bailed on his stand-up routine when the comedy club owner mentioned his infamous exes.

Fans at the Stress Factory Comedy Club in Bridgeport, Connecticut were left befuddled on Monday when Pete Davidson abandoned his show. After the venue's owner, Vinnie Brand, took the stage to joke about Davidson's past relationships with Ariana Grande and Kate Beckinsale, the SNL star left the crowd hanging.

Afterward, Davidson used Instagram stories to apologize to concerned fans, posting a video claiming he felt "disrespected" by Brand and that he "cannot perform under those circumstances." Davidson continued by announcing a free show he will be performing for all who purchased tickets to Monday's event. He ended the post by reinforcing his apology saying "this is not your fault."

Fans have taken to Twitter to express their support for Davidson. One user remarked "I don't think it's asking too much that a comedian wants to show up, perform, greet fans, and bounce. Without having their balls busted about who they dated. Give this kid a break. And a kit kat! #PeteDavidson."

Vinnie Brand spoke to Page Six about the incident saying, "This is not a guy I would ever hurt,” and claiming to be devastated by the event. Brand also stated that he rushed outside to convince Davidson to stay, but was met by an angry security team. The two parties almost came to blows had other people not stepped in.

Davidson's love life has been the topic of public interest in recent years. In 2018, he and Arianna Grade broke off their engagement; however, more recently, the comic split with actress Kate Beckinsale.
