In one of the magazine's more random features, Rolling Stone has gone ahead and compiled list of the 20 biggest songs of the summer from the past five years according to data provided by Billboard.
While the majority of the compilation consists of pop tracks (unsurprisingly), hip-hop did get its fair share of representation via collaborations.
In order, Rolling Stone's list included:
Rihanna - Where Have You Been
Florida Georgia Line featuring Nelly - Cruise (Remix)
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Can't Hold Us
Usher feat. will.i.am - OMG
Nicki Minaj - Super Bass
Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams - Get Lucky
Ariana Grande feat. Iggy Azalea - Problem
Pitbull feat. Ne-Yo & Afrojack - Give Me Everything
Katy Perry feat. Snoop Dogg - California Gurls
LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem
Iggy Azalea feat. Charlie XCX - Fancy
Robin Thicke feat. T.I. & Pharrell Williams - Blurred Lines
Noted by the magazine's editors is that melancholy rap power ballads (ex. Eminem, B.o.B. & Lil Wayne) were omitted from the list as they were attempting to "boil the list down to the most seasonally appropriate summer anthems."
